FOOD FROM ASIA

Bamboo Union is a well-know Pan Asian diner in Gulberg, opposite to Mall 1 and right next to the Second Cup. The place is quiet , calm and peaceful, occupies two floors and delivers amazing (a bit) casual ambiance.

Being Pan Asian, they are serving Chinese, Thai and Seafood specials. They have salads, soups, appetizers, chicken, seafood and noodles. Minimal drinks variety. No Desserts

Grilled Broccoli Salad

Had Grilled Broccoli salad with pesto sauce and coconut all over. Tasted fresh and yummy, perfect in portion  but against our expectations they had the boiled broccoli instead of grilled. Not a very happy surprise.

Pad Thai with Chicken

These Thai Chicken Noodles are Bamboo Union’s hot seller item and the taste definitely justified it with its well made chicken, tofu and noodles. This was a unique menu item, hard to find in Lahore (with similar taste). The noodles were spicy but to bearable level, had a hint of sweet in them but it all tasted perfect with soft tofu, mild spiced chicken and egg. Pour some lemon juice and chili flakes over it to make it spicier.  For us, this one is highly recommended. The quantity was enough for more than one person.

Tofu is actually soy milk concentrated  into small cubes, its very smushy and spongy, tastes bland alone and adopts taste of anything it is cooked with.

Pad Thai is actually stir fried rice noodles, used mostly as street food in Thailand.

Rs. 710.

The service and the serving staff both were excellent.

Final Verdict

Bamboo union claims to bring taste of Asia to Lahore, for us they have done done the job pretty amazingly with the taste, authenticity of the dishes and the restaurant’s ambiance too. You can enjoy their food at around 800-900 Rs. per person, which is quite economical for this experience (comparatively).
