Remember Bundu Khan? One of the first mainstream dining restaurants in Lahore, that was affordable and offered good food, located in Moon Market Allama Iqbal Town. The same food chain has established several branches across Lahore with a recent one in Emporium Mall.
The name has established an image of a place which never disappoints in providing quality and taste with great ambiance .We visited Bundu Khan at Emporium Mall which is a pleasant place for a nice meal.
Coming to the food, their menu covers Continental, Chinese,Seafood and FastFood. We chose to go for what Bundu Khan is famous for: Chicken Shashlik,Chicken and Cheese Kastoori Kabab, Chicken Garlic for main course and fresh lime for drinks.
Chicken Shashlik
This dish was a family serving and it came with egg fried rice and Shashlik on top of it with boiled eggs, cucumbers and tomatoes on the sides. Unlike most of the times, this time the Shashlik tasted a bit bland and vegetables were too much for the quantity of the rice and curry.This family serving was enough for 2-3 persons and costs around PKR 960.
Chicken and Cheese Kastoori Kabab
If you are a cheese lover but not in mood of fast food, this could be a nice alternative. On point spices, tender-at-touch and covered-in-cheese chicken; this dish is to root for.It is priced at PKR 860.
Chicken Ginger
Apart from the Chinese and Barbeque, we tried a typical Pakistan dish. This was nicely cooked chicken, submerged in thick gravy with garnishing of ginger and green chillies. Try this out with Tandoori Rotis and have a homely meal for lunch or dinner.This item costs around PKR 800.
There were multiple varieties of naan and puri paratha you could choose to pair with your order.The drinks menu was somehow very limited with 6-7 options.If you have a very specific choice of drink in your mind, they might not have that one in their menu.
The service was extraordinary as the food got served in minutes and the staff was helpful.
Final Verdict
This place can be perfect if you are having cravings for good continental food-the service and ambiance couldn’t be more better.We say it’s a safe and good choice to have a meal with family or colleagues for an expenditure of PKR 800-100/person.
