Classic & Tasteful Dine-in Experience
Fuchsia Kitchen is sort of a hidden food heaven located on Hali road, gulberg. We visited them in collaboration with community F&F. The place doesn’t resemble any restaurant in Lahore for its interior, spacious, huge, calm and peaceful ambiance. They offer open air and indoor, small halls and large halls and a separate space for bon-fire too!
The menu is different and vast, you will find a lot of unseen unusual options. The menu is divided into urban Thai, Asian and Classic Chinese starters and main course . Drinks variety is limited, Few desserts are part of menu too.
Hot N Sour Soup
This hot n sour soup is offered in prawns, seafood or chicken. We chose chicken and the beautifully presented bowl of soup came up. It was hot, definitely hot, a bit too runny, had good amount of mushrooms, bamboo shoots and vegetables which tasted absolutely fresh. This one serving was enough in quantity but one odd thing was extreme tangy sour taste in it. All in all, this was a good starter for spice lovers.
Cost: 565 Rs.

Prawns Toast
Fuchsia has very different starters for sure, prawns toast are a typical Chinese snack, prawns/seafood and some spices are turned into powder and spread over toast to make a crispy fried toast. The ones at fuchsia tasted great, they were crispy and gave that
seafood-ey taste with a salty light touch of spices.
Cost: 595 Rs.

Golden Fried Shrimp Fritters
These were crispy, thin long shrimp fritters (fritters are something fried with batter on them), shrimps were well made, didn’t have that raw seafood smell, the coating was very mild spiced and came with nam jim sweet n sour dip for those who don’t like their shrimps plain n mild.
Nam Jim is actually Thai word for “dipping sauce” in Thai cuisine
Cost: 795 Rs.

Pomegranate Fresh Juice
Just like a good fresh pomegranate juice should taste, enough in quantity, tangy and fresh. They had orange and apple in fresh juiced options as well.
Cost: 425 Rs.

Chicken Manchurian
Made just like typical Manchurian, juicy and saucy, the chicken chunks were thankfully not soggy and the gravy was not just ketchup turned into a runny gravy, it was mild sweet, perfectly thick and tasteful, not too spicy though the menu said it will be very spicy.
Cost: 1095 Rs

Sautéed Chicken with Cashew Nut
“Sautéed Chicken with dry chili in oyster sauce” on menu card gave pretty much every detail about this dish and the dish stayed true to it, the tender chicken chunks were dipped in smokey spicy oyster sauce with a very mild sweetish taste making it a juicy good combination.
Cost 1095 Rs.

Stir Fried Chicken
This was a very mild flavored dish, just some boiled chicken with snow peas(type of mild peas used in Chinese dishes mostly). Perfect for those who just want to enjoy a mild flavored almost bland chicken.
Cost: 985

Green Curry
Saved this dish review for the last, you will know why. If you haven’t tried Thai curry before, this is a whole new world of taste for you. Thailand is known for its curries and red, green and yellow curries are among the most consumed ones there. The difference is usually in spice levels of these curries, green curry is most spicy one. Now the taste, this curry tasted strong, not for its spice level but for its aroma and fishy taste. Coconut milk added to the mild sweet factor of gravy Thai curries use fish sauce/ shrimp paste as an essential ingredient and that sauce was very much evident in this dish. Fuchsia offers these curries in beef, chicken or prawn, we chose it with chicken. The chicken in strong heavy , creamy and spicy gravy was a treat too. For those who love eating different than usual and prefer spicy and sea-food, this one is made for you. For those who don’t like heavy fishy taste, dont try it.
Cost: 1085 Rs

Wok Fried Chicken with Holy Basil
Yet another chicken item with a strong spicy salty taste. Order it only if you prefer strong saucy food, a bit lesser salt would have made it just the perfect dish for those who like it hot!
Cost: 1085 Rs.

Crispy Chocolate Rolls
This was just crispy fried rolls where stuffing wasn’t any vegetable or chicken mix but HOT THICK MELTED OOZING CHOCOLATE. Simple but dreamy eh? Not for those who prefer mild sweet, definitely for those who live for chocolate! To complement the hot sweet chocolate, this dessert had a scoop of Japanese green tea ice-cream which is sweet, light ice-cream with a slightly bitter matcha taste in the end.
Matcha Ice-cream is a popular Japanese Ice-cream Flavor
Cost: 495 Rs

Bread and Butter Pudding
Made just right, not too perfect, not too thick or runny or extremely sweet either Served hot, the caramel sauce wasn’t overdone or extra sweet too.
Cost: 555 Rs.

Fudge Cake
Unlike every other item from fuchsia, this didn’t stand out. The slice was soft and had its mandatory smooth texture with chocolat-ey taste but lacked freshness.
Cost: 585 Rs

Tiramisu
Taste apart, full marks for the amazing and different presentation of tiramisu. The finger shaped sponge a.k.a ladyfingers were over soaked with coffee and made them extra moist, but the heavenly thick, rich and smooth mascarpone cream actually made every bite of tiramisu simply divine and dreamy! The serving size an be improved for the price of this dessert.
Cost: 595 Rs.

‘The service was amazing, their staff was open to feedback and very cooperative.
Final Verdict
Fuchsia Kitchen is a classic but expensive place with amazing taste of majority menu items, the ambiance and interior combine to give you a modern classy dine-in experience. If you are hunting good Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean flavors in Lahore, visit this place. All this comes at a price of around 1500-2000 per person cost.
