A restaurant with a Personality
Over the past few years, there has been an influx of restaurants all around Lahore as if Lahore has become a food hub of Pakistan. However, the downside is that originality is quickly fading away amidst the race of making profits and attracting customers. So, most of the eateries offer same kind of food with least distinctive taste.
However, Zucchini certainly tries to make a mark in this food wave without keeping behind. It has a simplistic interior where you can enjoy a peaceful meal after a tiring day with high-quality and delicious food.
Menu offers numerous dishes ranging from Pizza, Pasta, Mediterranean dishes, Steaks, Burgers to Sandwiches etc.We ordered Chicken Parmesan Sandwich and Mexican Chicken with Peach Iced Tea.
This dish had chicken breast submerged in salsa with mashed potatoes and sauteed vegetables on the side. Chicken was cooked to medium-rare with a little less than required spices;however, the salsa with sour and spicy taste almost compensated for it. Salsa had red peppers, tomatoes, jalapenos with salt and pepper enriching the taste. Mashed potatoes were the usual boiled potatoes mashed and mixed with a hint of salt- a bit too much salt-while sauteed vegetables like Zucchini, Carrots and Green Beans had seasoning of oregano on them. Overall, it was a fine dish for a cost of PKR 945.
Chicken Parmesan Sandwich
It was sandwich cum burger with fries and salad on the side. Sandwich was tower-like, layered with tomatoes, chicken fillet and lettuce-all layers kept together with considerable amount of Parmesan Cheese.Sandwich was fresh out of the kitchen, but a bit bland to taste. Fries were crispy, oil-free and just-about-right hot and salad was the usual one with pomegranates in it. Every bite was mouthful and satiating for a hungry stomach at a price of PKR 645.
Peach Iced Tea
This was the most unusual-in a good way- item on the list of things we tried at Zucchini. It was the most originally flavored iced-tea we have tried so far.It was not sweet but had a strong scent and taste of as if peach tea leaves, nothing artificial about it.This was the best drink in a long time for a cost of PKR 200.
Along with good food, the staff bestowed their best service to us, in terms of prompt serving-time and cooking-time.
Zucchini is quiet different from the restaurants present on the lane and across the lane.It might seem apparently expensive, but the neatly-presented food and genuine taste cover up for it.Moreover, all the items were more than enough for single-person serving to give you your money’s worth. This place deserves one visit at least, even for an average expenditure of PKR 1200/person.
